Guidelines

MIND OVER MATTER is a safe place for everyone in our community. Therefore, we’ve established a set of guidelines that all team heads, members, and contributors must adhere too.

We are an ever growing online zine of talented artists, creators, and pioneers. Our main foundational principle is ‘for the youth, by the youth’. We take responsibility for the equitable treatment of our full-time workers and contributors, all content published, and the values we stand for. As an ever-growing organization, we encourage creative expression and are committed to our missions on changing the stigma surrounding mental health as well as highlighting and talking about issues of global relevance. We value all forms of artwork and will continue to foster members’ capabilities by bringing together people from diverse backgrounds.

As we believe in compassion and teamwork, we completely embrace all identities and differences. M/M will always preserve the inherent right of our staff to express themselves. Regardless of one’s nationality, ethnicity, faith, gender and sexual identity, we’re open to having discussions on how we can continue to maintain or improve our inclusive environment through progressive perspectives that shape our agenda, products, and rules. Our fight against systemic injustice can be found both externally and internally, as we strive to give members the right to voice their opinions and to be themselves without fear of judgement.

All members are expected to be courteous to one another, showcase kindness and harmony, as well as to prioritize partnership for our collective benefit. By applying, we’re not only accomplishing individual gains but to be a champion for communities greater than our individual selves. Thus with this in mind, there are several expectations that we’re setting for all of us.

It is anticipated that we all will agree to

  • Accept and respect everyone’s identity and space

  • Create stimulating and engaging working conditions for all members

  • Encourage everyone to grow, develop, and express themselves in a positive way

  • Maintain healthy interpersonal relationships between heads and department staffs

  • Take accountability for everything we publish and our mistakes

  • Use our platform to create substantive content that follows our vision and mission

In order for us to fulfil our objectives, we need everyone’s honesty, participation, alongside feedback. As this is considered to be a binding rule that all of us must respect, you can contact our email (mindmattercollective@gmail.com) to raise any concerns, suggest amendments, and ask questions. By reading this, you concur with all our statements above.
