The Fool, Come Alive

This piece entitled "The Fool, Come Alive" is inspired by the Rider-Waite tarot cards. The media I used was a piece of cardboard along with a printed image of the Fool and acrylic paint as the background. This is an art style that I have just recently tried perfecting, which includes multiple colours not properly being mixed together and spread across the media to achieve an abstract and rougher work. This card of the Major Arcana is called the Fool and is represented by the number 0. Traditionally, this card represents new beginnings and the start of a new journey. The Fool is out for a new adventure accompanied by his dog, and he has an adventurous spirit filled with ambition and determination for his journey. Although this may look similar to the Rider-Waite version of tarot cards, I called this as "The Fool, Come Alive," for the piece has different textures in it, making it seem more 3-D than just a tarot card. With this 3D effect, I aim to make the Fool pop out and seem bold, as if he really is getting out to start his own journey. The difference in textures can be seen evidently between the cliff, sea-waves and the yellow sky. This was done not only to make the Fool seem more bold, but to also represent that when we start from the bottom, our journeys will always be rough, but as we go along, we will reach higher places and our journey will eventually become smoother
